Downburst 36 Pack

About this find

The Osprey Downburst 36 Pack is a 36-liter hiking backpack with a top-access main compartment. The body is bluepass certified 100% recycled 210-denier nylon with high-tenacity double ripstop, coated with a TPU laminate. The main compartment has RF-welded construction, an IPX5 rating and a welded, PU-laminated YKK zipper. A down-facing zip flap adds weather resistance.

The top can be rolled twice before buckling for maximum water resistance. Inside, a zippered mesh pocket with a key clip holds your keys, phone and wallet. Clip your keys to the mesh pocket first, so they stay put when you dig for a layer. Outside are five exterior pockets plus the main compartment, with PU-laminated YKK RC zippers.

Dual zippered hipbelt pockets keep small items handy, and dual-access side bottle pockets hold bottles within reach. The gusseted front compression pocket manages overloads and keeps layers and shells accessible. Dual upper and lower side compression straps snug the load down. There is also an ice axe or trekking pole loop with bungee tie-off, plus Stow-on-the-Go pole carry.

The internal frame uses a Lightwire steel alloy peripheral hoop, paired with a suspended mesh back panel and AirSpeed suspension for breathability and stability. Torso length adjusts to fit 18 to 22 inches, and the hipbelt fits 25 to 50 inches. An external hydration sleeve has a center pass-through port, though no reservoir or rain cover is included. The pack weighs 3 pounds 5.9 ounces.
