Ether Light XT Insulated Sleeping Pad

About this find

The Ether Light XT is an insulated air sleeping pad for one person, built for backpacking. The large size measures 79.1 x 25.2 x 4 inches and weighs 1 lb. 8.3 oz. It packs down to 4.7 x 11 inches, so it fits easily into a pack. The XT Air-Sprung Cells use loops of strong, flexible material to give a plush feel, and the pad is lighter and quieter than a traditional air pad.

Warmth comes from two types of synthetic insulation working together. Exkin Platinum insulation reflects your radiant heat back to you, while Thermolite insulation prevents convective heat loss. With a 3.2 R-value, the pad is sufficient for late spring to early fall use.

The face fabric is a 30-denier/40-denier material with liquid-extruded lamination, made to be quiet and durable. An antimicrobial treatment in the TPU lamination helps prevent internal mold growth. A multifunction, high flow-rate valve makes inflating, deflating and adjusting the firmness quick and easy. The included stuff sack doubles as an Airstream Pump, so you do not need to carry a separate pump.

The PillowLock system keeps a Sea to Summit Aeros Pillow, sold separately, from slipping off the pad. Try the pad out at home before your first trip so you know how much air feels right for you. The kit also includes a repair kit with 6 self-adhesive patches and a spare valve insert.
