Gamakatsu Octopus Fish Hooks

About this find

The Gamakatsu Octopus Fish Hook is a barbed hook with forged construction, built around an incredibly sharp, offset point. The offset point is designed to help the hook bite when a fish takes the bait, and the barb is there to help keep it in place once it does. This is model 0201, so you can find the exact design again when you need more.

A short shank is part of the build, and it is there for durability. The eye on this hook is upturned, which gives it a distinct profile on the line. It is an imported hook, and the style number is 241-.

This hook is made for drop shot and wacky rig presentations, two popular finesse setups where a compact, sharp hook matters. For wacky rigging, hook the bait through the middle so both ends are free to move. Whether you are rigging for a quiet afternoon or a long session, the octopus pattern gives you a focused, purpose-built option for those two rigs.

Gamakatsu has built this hook around a few clear strengths: forged construction, a sharp offset point, and a short shank that holds up. If drop shot or wacky rigging is part of how you fish, this is a hook that matches that job closely.
