Gold Camp UL5 Footprint

About this find

The Big Agnes Gold Camp UL5 Footprint is made to sit under the Gold Camp UL5 Tarp, giving your lightweight backcountry shelter a layer of ground protection. It is tailored for that tarp, so you are not guessing at size or shape when you set up camp. It is a simple add-on with one clear job.

The fabric is polyester ripstop with a 1500mm waterproof polyurethane coating. Ripstop weave helps the material resist tearing, and the coating adds a waterproof layer between your shelter and the ground. The footprint is imported. A reinforced patch sits where the center pole goes, giving that high-pressure spot extra support.

Care is easy to follow. For light cleaning, sponge it with warm water, not hot. For a deeper clean, use a waterproof gear cleaner such as Nikwax Tech Wash, rinse well, and hang it up to dry. Do not dry clean or machine wash it, and avoid bleach, liquid detergents and dishwashing liquids.

Storage matters too. Make sure the footprint is completely dry and free of debris before you pack it away, since damp storage can lead to mildew. Fold and roll it a different way each time to avoid permanent creases. Keep it out of hot places like a car trunk, and avoid long direct sunlight.
