Shield 2 Footprint

The Big Agnes Shield 2 Footprint is made to go with the Shield 2 tent. The tent itself is not included. This footprint is cut from durable 70-denier nylon with a 10,000 mm waterproof polyurethane coating, and it is intended for camping and mountaineering. It gives you a dedicated ground layer to bring along with the tent.

It measures 86 x 54/42 inches, listed as length by head and foot width. That means the head end is 54 inches wide and the foot end narrows to 42 inches, with the full piece running 86 inches long. At just 7 ounces, it is light enough to carry without crowding the rest of your pack.

The footprint also plays a part in the Fast Fly configuration. That setup requires the footprint, the tent fly, the poles and the stakes. Only the footprint is covered here, so the tent fly, poles and stakes are not included. If you plan to pitch the tent this way, check that all four pieces are packed before you leave home.

Lay the footprint flat before you set up the tent, and clear away any sticks or stones underneath. Doing this at the start of your campsite routine keeps the setup simple. This footprint is imported, and it is made specifically for the Big Agnes Shield 2 tent, so it is not sized for other models.
