The Shield 2 Tent from Big Agnes is a one-person mountaineering tent built for 4-season trips. It has a single door, a dome shape, and a freestanding design. The Pertex® 3-layer fabric pairs a DWR-treated nylon face with a microporous membrane and a tricot layer. The single-wall design is light and quick to pitch, and its three DAC Featherlight NSL poles are 9 millimeters across. Pole sleeves attach the tent body to the poles, and the corners are reinforced at the webbing.

The door's upper window can stay as mesh for airflow or zip closed for more protection, while the lower window lets you check the weather. Two supported roof vents with reach-through mesh can be closed from inside, and zip-closed nylon flaps give full closure. Multiple interior gear loops help keep small items handy, and triangular stake-out flaps on the exterior add extra guyout points.
