This Smartwool Smartloft vest for women has a wind-resistant recycled nylon shell finished with durable water repellent (DWR) to help protect from the elements. The shell fabric is 100% nylon, and the regular fit is intended to give you room to move without additional bulk. It is hip-length in the back and includes a hood for added coverage.

Inside, the insulation is Smartloft, made from 88% recycled and reprocessed wool and 12% polyester, and it is lined with merino wool. The lining is a blend of 56% merino wool and 44% polyester. Stretchy side panels, made from 47% polyester, 38% merino wool and 15% elastane, are designed to help with comfort and mobility.

The asymmetrical center-front zipper keeps the zipper away from your chin when fully zipped. You also get two zippered hand pockets and one zippered chest pocket, which gives you secure spots for a phone, keys or a lip balm. Because the vest leaves your arms free, it moves with you on easy trails.

This vest is made for casual hiking, and it suits cool, breezy days when you want warmth in your core. If the weather turns colder, wear a long-sleeve merino base layer under it for extra warmth on a windy walk.
