About this find
The Snowdrifter Jacket from Patagonia is made for downhill skiing and snowboarding. Its light, stretchy 3-layer H2No Performance Standard shell is waterproof and breathable. The shell is a 50-denier, 100% recycled polyester stretch plain weave with a soft recycled polyester knit backer that helps manage moisture. A durable water repellent finish sits on the surface.
The fabric, membrane and water repellent finish are all made without perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs/PFAS). The fixed hood is helmet-compatible and adjusts with an embedded cordlock system, while its laminated visor helps preserve visibility in bad conditions. Adjustable, low-profile cuffs secure over or under gloves, and pit zips quickly release heat when you warm up on the slopes.
Pockets cover the essentials. You get two zippered handwarmer pockets, a zippered chest pocket with cable routing and internal access, a zippered bicep pocket for a pass, and an interior drop-in pocket. If you carry a lift pass, the bicep pocket is a handy spot for it. An adjustable powder skirt can be cinched for a tight seal or lies flat when not in use.
This hip-length jacket weighs 1 lb. 5.9 oz. A concealed RECCO reflector lets rescuers use a directional signal to find the reflector's location. It is made in a Fair Trade Certified factory, which means the people who made it earned a premium for their labor. The shell also contains recycled materials.
