Spark Fire Pit

About this find

The Spark Fire Pit from ALPS Mountaineering is built around a long-lasting stainless-steel mesh pit. The mesh lets in the right amount of air to keep the coals red hot and the flames dancing, and it burns clean and efficient to help reduce smoke. It is made for burning wood and is designed for camping.

The mesh handles temperatures up to 2,500°F and releases heat quickly, so you can pack it away soon after the fire has died down. Sturdy metal construction and locking legs keep it steady once it is set up. A ground heat shield is included. It is designed so small embers that fall through the mesh do not ignite the ground below the pit.

This fire pit is portable and weighs just 8 pounds. It needs no assembly and comes with a carry bag, so you can set it up right at your campsite. It measures 47 x 21 inches and has a 135 lb. weight limit.

To get the longest life from the mesh, let the fire burn itself out. Skip any additives that change the color of the flames, since those chemicals reduce the mesh's lifespan. Before you light up, review Leave No Trace principles and check the land manager's current regulations on where to build a fire, which wood to use, and any burn bans.
